Perelman Performing Arts Center

The Starr Foundation contributed $20 million to The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC), a new cultural organization at the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.
This one-of-a-kind venue brings together artists and audiences in flexible, intimate performance spaces. After the attacks of September 11, 2001, the city prioritized the development of Ground Zero to honor the victims and first responders while also supporting downtown economic development and the needs of residents in lower Manhattan. An arts center was always a key component of the plan to revitalize downtown. Adjacent to the World Trade Center and across from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, PAC NYC completes the original vision for rebuilding the World Trade Center site: a memorial to remember, a museum to learn, and a performing arts center to uplift and celebrate the spirit.
With its iconic, distinctive architecture, the cubed-shaped building that is wrapped in nearly 5,000 translucent tiles of veined marble is as radiant in the day as it is after dark when it glows from within. The PAC’s three state-of-the-art theater spaces allow for over 60 possible configurations and can accommodate audiences ranging from 84 to over 1,000. New productions and audience experiences can be created and performed in these theaters, unlike anywhere else in New York City, showcasing theater, dance, music, comedy, chamber opera, and more. The PAC also serves as a cultural hub for artists, institutions, and community members to exchange ideas through various programs and performances.
