Grant proposals are by invitation only. The Starr Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals and is not able to respond to inquiries regarding unsolicited proposals.
The Starr Foundation makes grants to organizations in the U.S. that have been determined by the IRS to be section 501(c)(3) charities. The Foundation also makes grants to organizations outside the U.S. that are equivalent to U.S. public charities.

The Starr Foundation does not fund individuals, nor does it fund individual scholarship requests.

The Starr Foundation is a private foundation endowed by the personal estate of C.V. Starr upon his death in 1968. The Starr Foundation is neither a corporate foundation nor a family foundation. While C.V. Starr founded the companies that later became AIG and the Starr Companies, The Starr Foundation has always been separate and independent.
